Cursebreaker | 47 - Don't Jynx It

Orzo and Jynx threaten the Tower of Knowledge, but we ran out of patience for them SEVERAL arcs ago. It's time to finish the fight for the fate of Tildry.
Speaker 1:

Less time on Cursebreaker. The fiery final fight with Flann rages on.

Tim / GM:

Bert outpaced Flann to the top of the tower of knowledge and communed with the book of truth. It presented him with the opportunity to change reality, sending Flann to her death and Jinx back to jail. But, Bert knew the truth was not his to change. He declined divine intervention and in doing so, passed his test. With the difficult truth set back in motion, Holly and Marlborough worked together to protect Tildry from the impending meteor strike.

Tim / GM:

And it worked, but at what cost? So you are all still in mid combat in this tower, and Malboro just disappeared in a city wide portal that was constructed right over the top of this tower that has now collapsed. Sorry, the portal, not the tower. Malboro is gone, and we are at the top of the round with Tibio. You are at the base of the tower of knowledge in the main room.

Tim / GM:

Near you are Bert, Uli, and Orzo.

Tara / Journey:

Sabia looks at Orzo.

Speaker 4:

Dun dun dun.

Tara / Journey:

And, casts dissonant whispers

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Tara / Journey:

At a 5th level.

Tim / GM:

Okay. At the high level, folks.

Tara / Journey:

And he does a little, like, oh.

Tim / GM:

He gives one huge shake of his head and, like, swipes a hand across you as if to hit you, but it just makes you falter for a second. He's using a legendary resistance to undo your effect.

Tara / Journey:

That's rude.

Thomas / Guy:

Bummer.

Tara / Journey:

What do I get to do about that? Nothing. I will back up a bit and end my turn.

Tim / GM:

Alright. Next up is Holly.

Hannah / Eryn:

So portal's done. Mhmm. Malvo just disappeared next to her through her portal, then into his own portal, into the ocean.

Tim / GM:

Yep.

Hannah / Eryn:

Probably to die. Mhmm. I just imagine, like, Holly, with the immediate threat of the meteor is being done and her first, like, full portal.

Thomas / Guy:

Mhmm.

Hannah / Eryn:

She just kinda, like, drops to her knees for a second and, is just sitting in, like, the muddy riverbank, and is kind of, like, breathing heavily.

Tara / Journey:

Oh my god. We did it.

Hannah / Eryn:

And she what can she see when she looks across the pond or the river or whatever to the Tower of Knowledge from her vantage point?

Tim / GM:

So you can see inside the tower of knowledge, there is some commotion. You can see through an open doorway that there's some movement, but you can only see people for, like, a second at a time. On the outside of the tower, due to your cats being attached to the chameleon on its eyes Mhmm. You know where that chameleon is at all times no matter how much it tries to disguise itself.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay. I'm a cast Bigby's hand

Tim / GM:

k.

Hannah / Eryn:

To grab that lizard.

Tim / GM:

What's the range on Bigby's hand?

Hannah / Eryn:

120 feet?

Tim / GM:

Sure. Pretty close. Yeah.

Hannah / Eryn:

I create a large hand of shimmering translucent force. Yeah. You guys all know the spell. You know it. You love it.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm gripping that boss up. Grapple, grapple,

Tara / Journey:

grapple, grapple, grapple, Camille, Liam.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh. That's bad.

Speaker 4:

With Big B's hand. With big bee's hand.

Thomas / Guy:

Strength modifier is plus 8.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay. I'm gonna can I reroll that with a luck point?

Tim / GM:

Yes. That's your second one for today.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yep. Okay. 18 to grab him.

Tim / GM:

Got a 16. Yes. You succeed.

Hannah / Eryn:

I grab him My hand.

Speaker 4:

I grab him.

Hannah / Eryn:

I also want Holly's big bee's hand to have, like, really cute, almond shaped nails. Like a nice manicure. Yeah. So grabs it. It's definitely a ladies hand.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. You grab the chameleon, and its eyes kinda, like, bug out a little bit, and its, like, tongue squeezes out.

Tara / Journey:

Big gal's hand.

Hannah / Eryn:

Big gal's hand. Big bass. I am going to try to start swimming. There's there's no bridge anymore. Right?

Hannah / Eryn:

Or is there a bridge I can walk

Tim / GM:

across? There's parts of a bridge, but there's a big broken gap in the middle.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay. I'll just start, swimming. I'm holding my hand above the water and sides stroking with the other scuba club.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Bert, you are up next.

Thomas / Guy:

Okay. Bert's gonna walk over to Tibio and say, sorry I left you down here, Tibio. I had something important to do. And I'll cast healing word.

Tara / Journey:

Healies.

Speaker 1:

At a 4th level.

Thomas / Guy:

Remember, these can never roll fours or threes. You have 10 more hit points.

Tara / Journey:

That's not nothing. I'm in the double digits, y'all.

Tim / GM:

I

Tara / Journey:

Okay, gentlemen.

Thomas / Guy:

I think you're on the right track with the music. We just gotta keep trying. I'll try to distract him.

Speaker 7:

Okay. Yes. I I think he knows to avoid it.

Thomas / Guy:

For my action, I turn my attention to Orzo and give him the old brain goore. 18 to hit. That hits? Great. 15 damage.

Thomas / Guy:

Give it a shot, Orzo. I think if you tried to possess me again, you'd probably do it this time.

Tim / GM:

So you, you do get a surface read off this guy again. However, Orzo's thoughts have turned completely to escape.

Thomas / Guy:

That seems fine.

Tim / GM:

He is thinking

Thomas / Guy:

No. Don't escape. He

Tim / GM:

he's thinking he's done enough damage to slow you down and keep you here. He needs to get distance and make a plan.

Thomas / Guy:

I think Bert would be happy to let him get away, actually, at this juncture. It's been a busy day. That ends my turn.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Next up is Orzo. Orzo takes one good look at y'all. Everybody in that room, that would be Tivio, Bert, and Uli, make a constitution saving throw.

Tara / Journey:

Oh, lord.

Speaker 4:

Is this is it a magic save?

Thomas / Guy:

Great question. Is this a magical thing?

Tim / GM:

He is creating a very bright light to blind you.

Thomas / Guy:

That's a 6.

Speaker 4:

17. 15.

Tim / GM:

Okay. So then Bert and Tibeo are blinded

Thomas / Guy:

Ouch.

Tim / GM:

Temporarily. Uli, you shield and close your eyes at the exact right time.

Speaker 4:

I used to stare at the sun. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

I was like, okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm used to it.

Tim / GM:

But there is a bright flash, and you feel a kind of rush of air as Orzo exits this place. Fuck. Out the main archway. Holly and Snack see this streak of light dip straight into the water.

Speaker 4:

Oh, no.

Tim / GM:

It is headed east and down into the water.

Speaker 4:

Did it go past

Tim / GM:

us? Yes.

Speaker 4:

I mean, do I get an opportunity attack? Yeah. Okay. I just want a war caster.

Thomas / Guy:

No one

Tara / Journey:

can tell at least she can't fight the elements.

Thomas / Guy:

She killed a tornado.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. I just want a magic missile as he goes by.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

13.

Tim / GM:

Feels pretty good. You're kind of, like, chasing him out the door as he turns into a a streak of light to transport himself out of there. You coward. You all see his light kind of dim and disappear as he heads toward the, broken pinnacle of magic in the bottom of the lake.

Speaker 4:

That's not good. Right?

Tim / GM:

Next up is Jinx, who is being grappled right now. So it has to use its action to escape your grapple. So I need you to roll Bigby's hand again. You got a 22 this time.

Speaker 8:

25. God dang.

Hannah / Eryn:

Herald Herald 17, it's plus 8. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Strong hand.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. The, chameleon struggles a whole lot, and I guess his turn is over. Next up is snack. There is a large chameleon that is being grappled by a giant hand and kind of pinned and pressed up against the wall with a couple of cats hanging off its eyes.

Speaker 8:

Oh, are we in quite a bind, are we, Jinx? How unfortunate. How about a little blast of eldritch? And I shoot off a couple beams. So we got, 16 to hit.

Tim / GM:

Does hit Jinx.

Speaker 8:

K. The other one's way higher, so, 13 for the first one, 7 for the second. So 20 total.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 8:

Snack will look off to where that bolt went, and, frown.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Camera zooms on when you frowny. Super close-up on Snack. Mhmm. Alright.

Tim / GM:

As you sink these eldritch blasts into Jinx, you see them leaving holes in the chameleon. So there's a gaping wound on his side. The other one caught him near the head, and you see it, like, took out a piece of his skull. He is

Speaker 9:

That's good.

Tim / GM:

Very nearly dead. Snack, as you end your turn, you hear from a good distance away. Snack, what do I do?

Speaker 8:

I didn't think this far ahead. Genie, you're supposed to guide me on next steps.

Tim / GM:

They took care of the spicy meatball problem, and I've got all this Chalk

Speaker 8:

energy. Oh, yes. I have a really good idea that I forgot about earlier.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Aim this quick. He's making like a handgun motion.

Speaker 8:

Over there by all the magic stuff.

Tim / GM:

Underwater there?

Speaker 8:

Yes. If you can. But remember, you have to account for the light refraction in the water and

Tim / GM:

just a big boom then?

Speaker 8:

Yeah. Yes.

Speaker 10:

Big boom. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

And And that's actually pretty appropriate because what you see come out of Genie is a very wimpy little bolt. Oh. It's it's like about half the power of your normal eldritch bolt, and you see it like and it hits the water and just wow. And then you just see some bubbles at the surface. And he's like,

Speaker 10:

snack.

Tim / GM:

I'm sorry. That's all I've got.

Speaker 8:

It's okay. It happens to all of us sometimes.

Tim / GM:

I don't understand. I'm just not like I used to be.

Speaker 8:

We will get strong soon again, Genie.

Tim / GM:

Uli, it is your turn.

Speaker 4:

I don't know what's going on outside. Right?

Tim / GM:

I'm sure you hear, like, eldritch bolts getting flung around. You know that there's combat out there.

Tara / Journey:

You're basically in the doorway.

Speaker 4:

I'll go out. Mhmm. Where's the chameleon?

Tim / GM:

I'll need you to make a perception check. It is still color shifted to match the wall. Well, I

Hannah / Eryn:

can see my hand.

Tim / GM:

Oh. I guess

Thomas / Guy:

I can see my hands.

Speaker 4:

Where's the hand and the cats?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You can probably actually scratch that. Cats. Yeah. You see a large, hand made of force that is squeezing a big chunk of what looks like stone.

Speaker 4:

I guess I'll magic muscle the chameleon. K. Ten damage.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Snack, you see these bolts, magic missile bolts coming from Uli, and they jettison up towards the chameleon. And as close as you are, you can see each of them sink into the chameleon when they arrive just like your eldritch bolt. These are leaving holes in the thing. Eventually, its form becomes so weak that Bigby's hand starts to crush it, and you see the chameleon being forced out between the fingers, And then you see the hand just clench, and it crushes him entirely.

Tim / GM:

And you just see this, like, goo drip back into the water and, like, smear down the side of the tower.

Speaker 8:

Awesome. Like Yeah. Yuck.

Speaker 4:

Like people goo?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

It's

Tim / GM:

all sorts of stuff.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly, like, shakes Big B's hand off in the air.

Tim / GM:

Wipes it on the tower. Gross.

Hannah / Eryn:

And then just, like, dips it in the water to clean it.

Tara / Journey:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

You're welcome. Also, the glowy guy might be a problem. He got away.

Hannah / Eryn:

Can I use a reaction to use to catch my cats with the hand?

Speaker 4:

Yes. Have they have been crushed also?

Tim / GM:

No. They got out through the fingers.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

Also, if they're crushed, they just come back to life. So

Speaker 7:

But where did Ozil go? Did anyone see him?

Speaker 4:

I mean, I I popped him on the way out, but, I don't know.

Thomas / Guy:

I haven't seen anything.

Speaker 4:

He went out the door.

Speaker 7:

Did anyone see what he said? Did I still am having trouble.

Speaker 8:

I think he's going to the magic water that made genie kinda go crazy, but I can't imagine why.

Speaker 7:

I thought the fountain of magic came down with the tower.

Speaker 8:

Do you guys think it's still a fountain if it's underwater already?

Thomas / Guy:

Well, that's a great question about semantic snacks. Now see, I think

Speaker 7:

we do not have time for this. We must go after him. Right?

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Thomas / Guy:

Well, put a pin in it.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly splashes up on the bank. And she

Speaker 7:

says,

Hannah / Eryn:

I saw a light. It go went to this thing in the water. I don't know what it was.

Speaker 7:

It's the fountain of magic. Can you make a portal to take us there?

Hannah / Eryn:

I just made a portal, but I can try. Holly, prestidigitations herself. Dry. Okay.

Speaker 4:

Also, it's underwater. So

Thomas / Guy:

I I think we've established that we're all fine swimmers.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. But no no no one can breathe underwater.

Speaker 7:

Can you not breathe underwater?

Speaker 4:

Oh, no. I can. No one else can, I don't think?

Tim / GM:

Okay. So, Holly, you attempt to open a portal immediately after starting. You know that it's not gonna come and that you are limited to 1 per day at most.

Hannah / Eryn:

I I can't do it, you guys. I think I'm too tired.

Speaker 7:

That's that is okay, Ollie. You, you partled, I think, many, many meteors, so I think you are good.

Speaker 4:

I can take us halfway. Take one of us halfway.

Speaker 8:

Wait. I can't Everyone in the lamp except Uli.

Speaker 4:

Except Uli. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Okay. Sorry, Uli.

Tim / GM:

Snacky, you look around for the lamp, and it's not with you. And then you hear, like, a punk right in the water next to you.

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna alter self aquatic adaptation myself and go get the lamp, I guess. Oh, it's I surge.

Tara / Journey:

Hey. Perfect.

Speaker 4:

Roland d ten, Your age changes by a number of years equal to the roll. Oof.

Speaker 7:

If the

Speaker 4:

roll is odd, you get younger. Okay. Roll is even, you get older.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

And I rolled a 10

Tim / GM:

Oh.

Speaker 4:

Which means I get older by 10.

Tim / GM:

Oh, dang. Wow.

Speaker 4:

I'm now 40.

Tara / Journey:

Oh my god.

Tim / GM:

That was a big one.

Thomas / Guy:

The fuck? This is 40.

Speaker 4:

I am now older than all of my siblings, so that's cool.

Tim / GM:

Oldest. I'm The oldest sibling.

Speaker 4:

Door is my baby brother now. Okay. I'm a mermaid now, and I grab I grab the lamp out of the water. Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

Alright. Yeah. You're back on the bridge with the lamp and snack.

Speaker 8:

We all teleport into the mudroom.

Tim / GM:

K.

Speaker 4:

Except for me.

Speaker 9:

Except oh, shoot. Yeah. Uli Uli stays out.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Everyone, everyone pops into the near dimensional mudroom, and then Uli gets kicked out really quick.

Speaker 4:

And then I'm going to dimension door as close to the pool as I can. I'm in the water with a lamp.

Tim / GM:

Okay. So you, open the dimension door, and, you are, like, lurching forward to step through it, and something has got your ankle.

Speaker 4:

Great. From the water?

Tim / GM:

From the water.

Speaker 4:

From behind me?

Tim / GM:

Yes.

Speaker 4:

Would they would they come with me then, whoever grabbed me?

Tim / GM:

No. The the dimension door is like this, little tiny rip in reality that you're about to step through, but you can't physically move through it because you're being held back by something around your ankle.

Speaker 4:

Can I look at what it is?

Tim / GM:

It is a long gooey pink strand that is reaching back underneath the water.

Tara / Journey:

Mhmm. Fucking Jinx.

Tim / GM:

And then you see another one slap against the bridge and another couple against the tower. Surfacing from the water, you see a desperate attempt from Jinx to remain alive. He has shape shifted into something that is not real. He has portions of all the shapes you've seen before. He essentially resembles a large gorilla with a chameleon tail that has several mouths placed around its body that are all shooting out sticky pink tongues.

Tim / GM:

It surfaces from the water and pulls itself towards you.

Speaker 4:

Is dimension door gone now? Because it was

Tim / GM:

Dimension door is still there. I think what happens from here, actually, that pink strand that's got your ankle is suddenly severed, and you fall through your dimension door.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

Looking back for just a second to see what cut that strand, you see Ulrich with a scythe that had just dragged it through the tongue.

Speaker 4:

Where did he come from?

Tim / GM:

And you disappear through the dimension door.

Tara / Journey:

Oh, shit.

Tim / GM:

While you all explore this next section, you will also be fighting Jinx with friends from Tildry. Yay. So underwater, Uli, you're 500 feet closer to the puddle of light underwater.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yes. How deep are we underwater?

Tim / GM:

70 feet underwater.

Tara / Journey:

Okay. Why did we all need to go if we can't breathe there anyway? We're just gonna be in the lamp the whole time.

Hannah / Eryn:

I can transform into something.

Thomas / Guy:

Snack, do you have any old timey divey helmets?

Speaker 8:

I have a skull of an elephant that you could wear.

Speaker 7:

Did you steal that from the tower?

Speaker 8:

Which tower?

Speaker 7:

Is that a yes?

Speaker 8:

I I found it. Doesn't matter, but I think it could work. Okay. Let me go to my room.

Hannah / Eryn:

Enough of this. Genie, can you give us, like, gills or something or, like, help us breathe underwater temporarily?

Tim / GM:

Maybe. But if it goes anything like that last attempt, it's not gonna be enough.

Hannah / Eryn:

What do you mean not enough? Your magic's gone?

Tim / GM:

It's not gone. It's just not good anymore.

Speaker 8:

We can just hold our breath, Holly. It's not a big deal.

Thomas / Guy:

Well, I read this in a book once. I mean, mermaid Uli could just breathe air into our mouths.

Speaker 4:

I'll just make out with you while you fight the monster.

Tara / Journey:

What kind of book were you reading?

Speaker 8:

Doesn't matter.

Tim / GM:

Alright. So, Uli is, doing the, like, dolphin kick thing, swimming through the water towards the puddle of light. And eventually, you come right up to it, but there's no sign of Orzo here. You can see probably where he entered in. You can see a large, kind of blast in the side of this building.

Tim / GM:

You can get into it through the hole that he made.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

To get closer to that puddle of light. You can see, like, there are a couple narrow slots in the windows where you can see that light shining through, but they're not big enough to move through.

Speaker 4:

Okay. I try to get through the blast hole.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. You swim through that, and give me a perception check as you move through here.

Speaker 4:

8.

Tim / GM:

Okay. There's magic stuff in this room, and you can't see how he got to the pinnacle of magic from here. But you can see 2, archways that lead to your left and right kind of in a circle around this tower instead of going towards the center where the light is.

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna knock on the lamp.

Speaker 8:

Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You all feel this, like, rumbling and jostling from outside.

Speaker 4:

Hey. I can't get in. There's too many wheels.

Thomas / Guy:

Too many wolves?

Hannah / Eryn:

I know. I think she said wolves.

Thomas / Guy:

The wolf

Speaker 8:

is in danger. We need to get out and save her from the wolves. I cancel the teleportation or

Thomas / Guy:

You just eject us?

Speaker 10:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 9:

Eject us. Yeah.

Speaker 8:

Okay. Out of the lamp.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Sorry. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

I'm in the water.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You all just appear outside. Let me get a quick perception check from everybody else.

Thomas / Guy:

Okay. It's going in dice jail.

Tim / GM:

Natural 20. Nice.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh my god. 13, 11.

Speaker 4:

6.

Tim / GM:

Okay. 13 probably notices, and and snacks somehow you recognize. You are in a room that was devoted to the study of abjuration. You can tell that the archways leading left and right from here are protected by some abduration ward. You can see that this room is largely destroyed and flooded, of course, but there are some arcane artifacts in here that have been, like, jostled around as the tower fell.

Tim / GM:

But this little wedge of the tower is devoted to abjuration. Tibio, you know that as well. Also, we need everybody to make the constitution safe.

Thomas / Guy:

Let's go to a dice jail.

Tara / Journey:

A breathy holdy save.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Anyone need, breath?

Speaker 8:

23 For the room situation, you said left and right are archways, and there's something magical about them?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. They're they're warded, both of them. You don't know how Orzo got to the fountain from here because there's not like a direct path that goes to that light in the center of the tower.

Speaker 8:

Okay. I got a 5. Okay.

Tara / Journey:

I got, I got an unnatural 20. I

Hannah / Eryn:

have 18.

Tim / GM:

Okay. So, you're all fine except Bert is already choking when he gets tossed out of the lamp.

Tara / Journey:

I reach out and, like, slap, snack on the arm a couple times and point at Bert.

Speaker 8:

No. Slaps out some bubbles.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, you have to cross me.

Tim / GM:

What?

Speaker 4:

I'm okay. I'm gonna take a big breath in.

Hannah / Eryn:

That only just works for

Thomas / Guy:

the record.

Speaker 4:

No. No. I'm doing it anyway. I have no idea how this works, and I'm gonna blow air into Bert's, like, mouth and nose. I'm just gonna, like, open my mouth, Like, make a seal around this orifice.

Hannah / Eryn:

And you're a mermaid?

Speaker 4:

Yeah. I can, like, take in air through my gills.

Tim / GM:

Uli's Uli's mohawk is slow motion shimmering underwater as Uli's or as Bert's eyes go wide, and they lock lips. And Bert's cheeks just inflate with Uli's breath.

Tara / Journey:

Her mouth is over his mouth and nose.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. He's very much smaller than I.

Tara / Journey:

His whole face is in your mouth.

Tim / GM:

Bert, you can feel your lungs practically bursting.

Thomas / Guy:

She's eating me.

Tim / GM:

Maybe maybe Uli's lungs didn't suck up all the oxygen out of that breath, and, you are okay for just a couple seconds here. However, at that moment, Uli, you feel something as your lips connect with Bert.

Tara / Journey:

A

Speaker 4:

little spark.

Tim / GM:

Uli, as you pull away, Bert, what you're looking at is Uli, but she's got, like, salt and pepper hair, and her overalls are a very nice navy blue. And she's got, like, a little, like, dress shirt underneath it.

Speaker 4:

All I had to do was kiss him.

Tim / GM:

And you can see that you've got a little burp patch on your overall. So yeah.

Speaker 4:

Do I know what it would do if I used it?

Tim / GM:

You, your outfit has changed. Your hair has changed. You also have a very small mustache.

Speaker 4:

I forgot to shave this morning.

Tim / GM:

So for this, you get, 2 abilities. One of your spells is altered just like with Tibio, except this time it's your thunder wave spell. When you cast thunder wave while wearing the burp patch, it heals allies for the same amount that it would damage enemies. Wow.

Thomas / Guy:

Cool. That's a good patch.

Tim / GM:

In addition, you can learn someone's surface thoughts by repeatedly shouting their name at them. Bert, you just kissed Uli, and now you're looking at, like, a reflection of yourself in her.

Thomas / Guy:

Every time I kiss someone, they turn into me.

Speaker 4:

Is it imitation is the highest form of flattery?

Tim / GM:

Snack with your, natural twenty perception. I will also let you know that, the archway to your left, signals transmutation, and to your right signals evocation.

Thomas / Guy:

I'm glad Snack knows that. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Does Snack even know?

Tara / Journey:

No fucking kidding.

Thomas / Guy:

Does Thomas even know the Okay.

Tim / GM:

Snack, looking to your right, you think of what

Speaker 8:

Just tell me in Snack terms.

Tim / GM:

To your right is fiery explosions. To your left is change, get bigger.

Speaker 8:

Which one is better?

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, gee. Oh, that is a tough call for Snack.

Speaker 8:

None of my allies are currently dead. So, Snack will, take the left.

Tim / GM:

Fantastic. Alright. Yeah. You, press up against the archway and realize that it's warded and preventing your egress. When you push into it, you can feel it kind of, like, flex against you.

Tim / GM:

The harder you push, the more it flexes. This feels like it could be destroyed.

Speaker 8:

I got one tool, and it's an Eldritch Blast. So we got 20 3 and, 27.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Those both hit. Okay.

Speaker 8:

515, 21 Damage? Damage. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. You see the the wall, flex and shutter, and you you see some fractures form into it, but it does not give away yet.

Speaker 8:

Mhmm. Snack points aggressively at it. Okay.

Tim / GM:

Does anybody else wanna pitch in?

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Can I shatter? Can I, like, sonar scream?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It fails whatever save it's got to make.

Speaker 4:

Okay. Then it would be 3 d 8. It's a 11.

Tim / GM:

Well, the 11 is enough to, flex and shatter the ward. The ward gives away, and he realized at that moment that the other rooms of this tower had not been flooded until just now. Water goes rushing into the next room and Does it, like,

Speaker 4:

displace us?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. I think you all get kind of, like, shoved into that room.

Thomas / Guy:

But does it make a pocket of air perhaps?

Tim / GM:

Maybe you guys get, like, a quick breath out of it. Yeah. So, yeah, it's, like, rapidly filling up. Yeah. You all get a second to breathe, some old stale tower of magic air.

Tim / GM:

And stepping into the transmutation room, Holly becomes an anglerfish. Bert becomes a turtle. Tibio becomes an octopus. Snack becomes a walleye, and Uli becomes a dolphin.

Speaker 4:

Hell, yeah.

Tara / Journey:

Tibeo still has bone armor.

Thomas / Guy:

Can we talk to each other?

Speaker 4:

No. Wait. What are you?

Tara / Journey:

An octopus. Okay. Can I still have bone armor?

Tim / GM:

Yes. You're you're just in a skull.

Tara / Journey:

Yes. Nice.

Tim / GM:

You're a skull with tentacles.

Tara / Journey:

Nice.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly, as an anglerfish, is gonna swim around and investigate this room with my light.

Tim / GM:

Give me an investigation

Speaker 8:

check. Do you

Speaker 4:

say we couldn't talk to each other?

Tim / GM:

Correct. Okay.

Tara / Journey:

Can we cast?

Tim / GM:

Beep. Not verbal stuff.

Speaker 4:

Does anything not have verbal?

Tara / Journey:

I don't even write that on my character sheet.

Speaker 8:

You're a bad wizard then.

Speaker 4:

You're a bad wizard, Harry.

Hannah / Eryn:

18 to investigate this room.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. Holly, you have your little light dangling in front of you, and you just kind of swim around and read things. You can see the ink rapidly smearing all the text in here as it gets flooded with water and A

Thomas / Guy:

single tear falls down turtle Bert's eye.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. But you don't see it because we're underwater.

Tim / GM:

Holly, you you give it you give it a good swim around and conclude that there's, nothing of value in here except to move on to the next chamber.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly just swims away into the next chamber.

Tara / Journey:

Okay. I'm looking for a door.

Hannah / Eryn:

Also, it's dark as shit, so y'all better follow me.

Tim / GM:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

I would also like to propose we call him Turt.

Tara / Journey:

Turt. Turt the Bertle.

Thomas / Guy:

Turt follows Holly.

Speaker 4:

What are you?

Speaker 8:

I'm a walleye. Oh. For those not from Minnesota, it's a it's a freshwater fish with cool looking shiny eyes sort of thing. They're kinda spooky looking. So

Speaker 4:

I swim ahead of everyone Okay. Because I'm fast. Alright.

Thomas / Guy:

I'm behind because I'm a turtle.

Tim / GM:

The next chamber, I I think you're all starting to catch on the themes of these things, but you move into the conjuration chamber. There are extra planar creatures here that don't seem like they mean to be. Willy, you see a dolphin that looks a lot like you, except it's, like, ethereal, and it's just kind of swimming in circles around you.

Speaker 4:

I wanna do the Spider Man meme, but with my fin.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You just the 2 dolphins point at each other.

Tara / Journey:

Did you guys see that there? The Spider Man did that?

Speaker 4:

Oh, did they? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The 3rd.

Speaker 4:

So there's an ethereal dolphin floating around me.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. I mean, there's ethereal creatures of all sorts, including things that you don't really understand what they are. It almost looks like a a satyr, except it's got, like, kind of a, like, giraffe neck to it. It doesn't look like anything you've seen before. There are some, like, almost demonic looking creatures with 6 arms.

Speaker 8:

Tim, you do know that dolphins are real. Right? Like, they're not

Tim / GM:

They're in the monster manual. Yeah.

Speaker 8:

We'll talk about it later.

Thomas / Guy:

That's fine.

Tim / GM:

No. It's fine. Okay.

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna try and commune with a dolphin.

Tara / Journey:

Yeah. Who knows what that was?

Thomas / Guy:

Kind of a monkey dolphin?

Tara / Journey:

I was a thousand only speaking dolphin.

Hannah / Eryn:

Wait. I can try.

Speaker 4:

As an anglerfish.

Hannah / Eryn:

No. You're a doll. I'm the I'm the air leaf oh, what the fuck? I'm the ethereal dolphin. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

Okay. It seems the extra planar dolphin is not a dolphin at all and does not speak your language.

Thomas / Guy:

No.

Tim / GM:

These are all just manifestations of energy from elsewhere.

Hannah / Eryn:

Are they drowning right now? Or are they just, like They're they're just a little lost. Okay.

Tim / GM:

Good. Yeah. They they move back into the other chamber that you were just in, kind of explore alongside you. But it becomes clear that there's really not much else to this chamber.

Speaker 8:

Snack is very determined to find the fountain.

Hannah / Eryn:

I swim on.

Tim / GM:

Okay. You, now enter into a room that looks a little foreboding at first blush, full of bones and dark looking ceremonial artifacts.

Thomas / Guy:

We're still

Tim / GM:

Still fishified. Pictures. Yeah.

Tara / Journey:

The tibial octopus reaches out his many tentacles and captures as many bones in passing as he can to try and get a sense for them.

Tim / GM:

Okay. I think as soon as you reach out, a sort of cloud of bones lifts from the floor of this place and assembles near you. You can tell that these are not the right bones to be making this shape, but there's a small dog that is swimming in front of you. Its head is not a skull. It's just a bunch of bones cobbled together to look something like a dog head shape.

Tim / GM:

You'd guess there's about a 100 bones in this cloud. Much like when you touch the sky whale bones during travel, This thing is laced with memory, but it seems more intentional than before. Just a moment after beginning to focus on this, you all see this ghostly image play before you, and you can hear this in your head. There are 2 charming looking gnomes before you. Tibia, you recognize a projection of your parents.

Tim / GM:

And your mother speaks, hello, Tibia. And then you hear, what

Speaker 10:

if he doesn't find it?

Tim / GM:

And you hear,

Speaker 10:

of course, he will find it. How could Tibio visit Dilwe and not visit the pinnacle of magic?

Thomas / Guy:

And you

Tim / GM:

hear, I suppose. He's a clever boy. Your mother kind of, looks back into the quote unquote camera and starts again. Hello.

Speaker 10:

It seems we started our research in

Tim / GM:

the right place. We learned

Speaker 10:

a lot from Tildry. Nowhere else could someone find so many books on so many topics. We know the spirit causing all of this chaos has taken root in Vindorn. He inhabits the body of their king, Orzo. Orzo is a rare kind of king.

Speaker 10:

He was rich beyond meaning. He was a wizard of unmatched power. He was an immortal vampire. And on top of that, he was a kind and benevolent man, but that changed recently. He grows his influence by spreading his vampiric strain as those converts are compelled to do his bidding.

Speaker 10:

We feel he may already control most powerful leaders in Vindon, and that they are unable to help themselves. There has been alchemical research that suggests a vampire's lineage can be cured, even inoculated against, through the use of an experimental potion. We need to find out what that potion is and how to get the wind on. That's our next move. And it cuts

Tim / GM:

out. Tibio, you're reminded of the the PS of your letter from your parents that told you to seek out the pinnacle of magic.

Thomas / Guy:

Turt puts his turtle fins to his mouth in shock.

Tara / Journey:

Octopus Tibio is frozen. All of the tentacles are unmoving except for the very tips of them that are twitching in anxiety.

Thomas / Guy:

Turt swims over and places a fin on Tibio's

Tim / GM:

head. Okay.

Tara / Journey:

Tibio is startled, and, all of his tentacles shrink into the skull that he's in.

Thomas / Guy:

Turret retracts into a show.

Hannah / Eryn:

They both just sink

Speaker 4:

to the floor in the room.

Tara / Journey:

And then he starts, like, trying to mess with the bones more in the hopes that he'll get more out of the bones.

Tim / GM:

They don't play anything further, but every time you disassemble the bones, they reassemble into the rough shape of a dog that is kind of swimming around you in circles.

Tara / Journey:

I have a dog. I reach out some tentacles to the face of the dog and, like, pat it.

Tim / GM:

It it reacts somewhat like a dog, but it's a little mechanical in nature. Perfect.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly keeps swimming to the next area.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. As this as this, presentation ends, your angler light, reveals that there is a, another blast hole in this wall. This time, it's in the forward wall that would lead to the center of You see that pool of light in the center. That is the only bright thing aside from Holly's angler light. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

The 2 of you are are bathed in this stark whiteness.

Hannah / Eryn:

Do we see anything besides the light? Is Orzo anywhere?

Tim / GM:

Nope. No sign of Orzo.

Speaker 9:

Snack tries to come into being again. Okay.

Tim / GM:

When you're in this chamber and you kind of set your mind on undoing this magical effect that has transformed you, you see a little wisp, reach out from that pool of light and react to your thought, and it transforms you back into snack.

Speaker 8:

Yes. Sorry.

Speaker 4:

And

Speaker 8:

I pull out the lamp Mhmm. And, rub it.

Tim / GM:

There's a little burst of bubbles as, Genie comes out with a giant dive helmet and, like, slowly turns to look at snack and gives you a big thumbs up with a, like, reflective face plate.

Tara / Journey:

Just the helmet, not the suit. So it's really there's water in there.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. It's just a loose helmet.

Speaker 9:

Snack nods.

Tim / GM:

Okay. He gives you a slow, like, astronaut nod and then looks towards the, the pool of light, and then he just kind of, like, shakes off the helmet and floats towards it. And you see him open his mouth wide, and you see his arms reach across the entire expanse of this room, warping his own anatomy to absorb this light. And you see him take just a little bit for himself, and then he turns around and diverts the flow to snack. He then almost like a kinked hose or something, he, like, turns it on each of you and is just, like, distributing this power throughout the room using himself as a conduit.

Tim / GM:

When it's over, Jeanie says, undistorted, through the water here, you can all hear what he's trying to say to you. He says, I realized at some point it, well, it's not going to be me, is it? I'm not gonna be the one to stop him. It's us. We all need this.

Thomas / Guy:

Turt claps his fins. Okay.

Tim / GM:

At that, you all feel yourself surge with energy. Your HP is maxed out,

Thomas / Guy:

oof,

Tim / GM:

and you become level 11.

Hannah / Eryn:

Hey. Woah.

Thomas / Guy:

Can I get cannons in my shell like blast toys?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Sorry. This is an upgrade to your fish form only.

Speaker 8:

Okay.

Speaker 9:

So is the fountain no more then?

Tim / GM:

Is Yeah. The fountain has been used up. This this gate has been closed by you guys pulling enough energy through it that it dissipates.

Speaker 4:

So that's a pretty nice benefit for closing these.

Speaker 8:

Is there a way out of this, underwater trap?

Tim / GM:

The same way you came in would suffice, I think. But before that, we will cut back to the bridges and the chimera Jinx that is still threatening the tower of knowledge.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, webs.

Tim / GM:

First in this initiative is Uli playing Ulrich. Oh. Ulrich has a team. A scythe, a lasso, and a pitchfork. What would you like to do?

Speaker 4:

Scythe for sure. Okay. So he's got, like, weird fleshy mouths.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Again, this thing is like a gorilla body with a, like, chameleon face and extra mouths all over its body that are all shooting out these pink tongues.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

I wanna chop some tongues.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. Let's have, Ulrich make a multi attack, do 2 attacks for me.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay.

Speaker 8:

With the

Tim / GM:

d twenty.

Speaker 4:

What do I add?

Tim / GM:

You're gonna add a flat plus 6 to your attacks.

Speaker 4:

Okay. Alright. 21

Tim / GM:

That hits.

Speaker 4:

And 9.

Tim / GM:

Okay. That does not hit.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

And, for the damage, I'm gonna give you, have you give me 2 d8+4.

Tara / Journey:

15.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. That's definitely enough to, sever a tongue. You see this thing was trying to stabilize itself and get closer to the braider so it can start eating people. But with every tongue you sever, it has less control over the battlefield.

Speaker 4:

Every tongue you chop. Gross.

Tim / GM:

And then next up in that initiative is Henry, the, Yeah. House homunculus.

Thomas / Guy:

Who's who's Henry's friend?

Tim / GM:

Henry the homunculus, is, Tibio's go.

Tara / Journey:

Hell, yeah.

Tim / GM:

Henry has magic missile and magic missile.

Tara / Journey:

Fuck

Thomas / Guy:

yeah. Choose wisely.

Tara / Journey:

Yeah. Henry is going to so what's where's the, like, bulk of Jinx? The gorilla part is the bulk?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. That's, like, the the core of it. And so that is, like, kind of right up against the bridge, and then this alternate party is on that bridge right there on the front of the tower of knowledge.

Tara / Journey:

Okay. Yeah. Bucket Henry is going to magic missile the gorilla. Okay.

Speaker 9:

And

Tim / GM:

then we'll pretend that is at a, 5th level coming from him.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

Oh, I'm sorry. 3rd level, meaning 5 bolts.

Tara / Journey:

Gotcha. 11, 12, 13. 13.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Not as good as Owen, but good.

Tara / Journey:

Well, he's a bucket.

Tim / GM:

Well, he's So one has

Thomas / Guy:

made a point.

Tara / Journey:

He's a bucket. He's 2 buckets and a mop. So whatever.

Speaker 4:

Okay. Is he is he like the the mops in Fantasia?

Tim / GM:

Pretty much. Yeah. So Next up in that order is, Cid clearly being played by Bert. Yeah. Cid has, cure wounds and guiding bolt.

Thomas / Guy:

I'll serve up a guiding bolt. K. What's his, modifier? I mean, it's an 18, so hit.

Speaker 10:

Thank you. Yes.

Tim / GM:

Yes. That will hit no matter what. 18 in any case would be a hit. So we'll do a 3rd level guiding bulb.

Speaker 8:

Oh.

Thomas / Guy:

20 damage.

Tim / GM:

Dang. Alright.

Thomas / Guy:

And the next person has advantage on their attack.

Tim / GM:

Alright. And that next person would be Norp, played by Snack. Who the fuck's Norp? Luckily. Who the fuck's

Thomas / Guy:

Norp. Good one, John. Who's the fucks Norp?

Tara / Journey:

Fan favorite, Norp.

Tim / GM:

Norp is the steward of the tower of knowledge. He has, Misty Step and Cone of Cold.

Speaker 9:

And who's who's Norp again? He's

Tim / GM:

He's the he's an orc professor that told you about Icy

Thomas / Guy:

Oh.

Tim / GM:

And then met you at Henry's. Are you just fucking with me?

Speaker 9:

No. She's got Conan of Cold and Misty Step. Okay. One sec. Let me just I got my Do

Tim / GM:

you want me to tell which one does more damage?

Speaker 9:

No. I I think I know.

Thomas / Guy:

Norp teleports himself into the monster, misty step.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Can we sacrifice these with the NPCs.

Thomas / Guy:

Norp has made a beautiful sacrifice.

Speaker 4:

It's a

Speaker 9:

very powerful spell.

Tim / GM:

Mhmm.

Speaker 9:

Norp has lived a very boring life looking at books all the time. He, crutches down and spins his hands all cool and shoots off

Tim / GM:

a, quote, a cold.

Thomas / Guy:

Okay.

Speaker 9:

So it's a con save. So it's 38 cold damage on a failed save.

Speaker 8:

What the fuck? You got norked.

Speaker 4:

I'm trying something new out. Does it work?

Tim / GM:

Alright. Yeah. Not only does that, freeze some of the tongues in place such that they shatter when he moves, this chimera is also stuck in place against the bridge now as the water around it has frozen. Hell, yeah. Norp.

Speaker 9:

That ought to chill him out.

Tim / GM:

Oh god. Finally, we have Holly playing the role of Ivy. Ivy has, ray of frost and enlarge reduce.

Speaker 4:

Fuck. Sorry. We I think we clipped.

Speaker 8:

Yeah. It's a clipper.

Hannah / Eryn:

Ivy's gonna try to reduce that monster

Tim / GM:

k.

Hannah / Eryn:

To a b boy.

Tim / GM:

K.

Hannah / Eryn:

I don't

Speaker 4:

know how to do the

Hannah / Eryn:

spell I roll.

Tim / GM:

I don't think you roll, actually.

Hannah / Eryn:

Good. Because that was bad.

Tim / GM:

Alright. That is a 12 for the con save. That does fail Ivy's save. It is reduced.

Hannah / Eryn:

That's right, you monster.

Tim / GM:

I guess all of those characters, hear a sort of shattering noise as the frozen chimera begins to shrink down rapidly and is now kind of still stuck in that large chunk of ice, but is now flailing with no power to remove itself from the ice.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, I don't know you, but nice. Yes. Good one.

Speaker 9:

We should start an adventuring party together.

Tara / Journey:

Henry's buckets rattle.

Hannah / Eryn:

Not so fast. I got a business to run.

Tara / Journey:

Yeah. I got a farm.

Thomas / Guy:

Hey, well, we'll talk later, Narc.

Speaker 9:

That's my name, and don't forget it.

Speaker 4:

Don't forget who I am.

Tim / GM:

Back underwater. What are you doing as the the gate? These idiots. Yeah.

Thomas / Guy:

I fell in love with my other character.

Tim / GM:

Let's never go back. The the gate is sealed. The Orzo is gone. You are level 11.

Thomas / Guy:

Snack is the only non fish. Right?

Speaker 9:

Yeah. Yep. Should I roll? That's gonna be a 7.

Tim / GM:

That is not good. Still not good. Okay. You all see Snack is choking.

Speaker 4:

Julia's adopted. I don't think I make an actual connection.

Speaker 9:

So Snack sees a dolphin open its mouth and charge him.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. There's, like, rows of sharp teeth. Yeah.

Hannah / Eryn:

No.

Tim / GM:

Smaller as you reach for the lamp, but, that that magic has kind of used up for the day.

Speaker 4:

I'm I'll I'll swim him towards Jamie.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly's swimming around trying to find a way out of here that's faster than the way we came.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. I wanna say at your size, Holly, you actually can slip through the little windows in this in this tower.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly swims out and then turns around and, like, swims back in and swims out again Mhmm. And swims in again. And then is like, I can't leave everybody in her head. And so she swims in, and then she is going to wait. We can't cast spells with verbal because we're fish.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm gonna give Snack a teeny tiny potion that I've been holding on to for Wow. A long time. Oh.

Speaker 4:

Oh. Cool.

Tim / GM:

Do we have potions Interesting.

Speaker 4:

Off of you?

Hannah / Eryn:

I've literally had it for, like

Speaker 4:

I know, but you're an anglerfish right now.

Hannah / Eryn:

It's Oh, how does that work?

Tim / GM:

You'd have to pop out of your anglerfish form to give it a snack.

Hannah / Eryn:

How deep underwater are we?

Tim / GM:

Like, 70 feet.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, okay. That's fine. Yeah. I'll swim through the crack.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm gonna pop into holly form. K. I'm gonna stick my arm

Tim / GM:

k.

Hannah / Eryn:

Back through the crack with the teeny tiny potion.

Tim / GM:

Yeah.

Hannah / Eryn:

And, like, wave it around at snack, like, holding the potion.

Tara / Journey:

K. Tibio the octopus grabs it with one tentacle and passes it

Tim / GM:

to Snack.

Speaker 9:

Okay. Snack opens the potion. Mhmm. He notices it starts leaking out and then puts it up to his mouth.

Tim / GM:

You just, like, you open it into the water, and it just, like, drips everywhere. And then your eyes go wide, and you just, like, suck up all the colored water. And, snack becomes teeny tiny. Snack, you are 2 inches tall.

Speaker 9:

Woah. No.

Tara / Journey:

Tibio the octopus tentacle and rolls them up. Okay. And then uses the other tentacles to, like,

Speaker 4:

jet through that crack and

Tara / Journey:

get up to the surface.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Holly's swimming for the surface too.

Thomas / Guy:

I guess Uli and I are going back the way we came in.

Speaker 4:

I guess so.

Tim / GM:

Alright. You guys are taking a long way together. Well, say you all crest the surface of the water back near that bridge, and you can see that, Jinx Chimera, had just ended his turn. Reduced Jinx is not nearly as effective as full size Jinx. And, you can see that, Sid clearly is sitting on the ground, like, holding the side of his face just going, no.

Tim / GM:

I'll I'll be okay. I'll be okay. And, that's about the worst of it.

Hannah / Eryn:

I have a question.

Tara / Journey:

Yeah. Did my bone dog follow me?

Tim / GM:

Yes.

Tara / Journey:

Yes.

Tim / GM:

Sid clearly says, we got him on the ropes. I think the the rest is up to you. We gave it what we could.

Thomas / Guy:

Are we people now?

Tim / GM:

Bert says in real language.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, yeah. I I yeah. I can I can tell the difference between myself and a turtle?

Tara / Journey:

We

Hannah / Eryn:

had a really wild time down there. I'm glad you guys are okay, though. Okay. We can take it from here.

Tim / GM:

Each of your corresponding people reaches down to help you out of the water.

Speaker 4:

I look a lot older now to my brother.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. When he grabs your hand, he just says, you don't look so good.

Speaker 4:

Well, fuck you too.

Tim / GM:

He hands you a pitchfork. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Wow. Thanks. Wow. Thanks, Sid. Oh, Norp's here too.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, snap on Norp.

Tim / GM:

Looking over the ledge, you can see, that there's, like, blood in the snow and that Jinx is just thrashing and flailing and is about 5 or 6 feet tall in total. There's, like, tentacles and body parts and tongues laying all around here. What do you guys do to finish this fight?

Thomas / Guy:

Yeah. I did a cool thing last time. Someone else could take this one. Or we could all, like, shoot it with some sort of blast all at the same time.

Speaker 4:

What about we use different elements?

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, that's good. That's good.

Speaker 4:

That is pretty cool.

Thomas / Guy:

Do we have all do we have I

Hannah / Eryn:

can do fire. I

Speaker 4:

have Fire is great.

Speaker 9:

Ice. Tiny snack.

Speaker 4:

I have electricity.

Speaker 9:

Grabs his cloak and starts flying down towards him 2 inches tall.

Tim / GM:

You all lose track of snack immediately.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, shit. Where Snack's gonna ruin our cool.

Tim / GM:

Also, snack is moving like a 1000000 miles an hour.

Hannah / Eryn:

It's like a little a bumblebee or something.

Speaker 8:

Yeah. I get down You're

Hannah / Eryn:

a dragonfly. Oh. Sorry. Oh my god.

Speaker 9:

That's great. Snackamas is what he wants to do as well. Okay. Flies over close to him and waits for the queue. Mhmm.

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna get close to him also.

Tara / Journey:

Timio tosses y'all bardic inspiration and sits on shore. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Bert's ready to hit it with a sacred flame.

Speaker 4:

I'm ready to stab him with the pitchfork and cast shocking grasp.

Tim / GM:

Nice. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Holly, you got one?

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm gonna fireball fireball him.

Speaker 9:

Mhmm. Snack takes a deep breath in and is gonna do a fly by, a dragon breath on

Tim / GM:

him Okay. Cool.

Speaker 9:

In his timing form.

Tim / GM:

Okay. You see Ulrich, Henry, Cid, Norp, and Ivy all kind of, like, get themselves ready in an attack position, and then you all just hear Cid go, go.

Thomas / Guy:

Nope. Nope. Awesome.

Speaker 4:

What is the

Thomas / Guy:

I I didn't even roll for this one. He has to make a deck save.

Speaker 9:

Deck save for me too.

Hannah / Eryn:

Me too. Awesome cast at 4th level. Wow.

Tim / GM:

Alright. That's a natural one for

Speaker 4:

Holly's deck. Hello.

Tim / GM:

That's so that was for the fireball? Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

I feel like he should just have a natural one for all of us probably. I

Tim / GM:

like that. Yeah. Okay. He rolled a natural one in the first deck save. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

I'm gonna say it's an ultimate failure. You see what's left of the Chimera Jinx, still has a large portion of its legs stuck in the ice, and it just sort of flops over to face its attackers, and it sees all of you coming down at it. First, the fireball goes off, and then a sacred flame lights him up, then a dragon breath, and finally a pitchfork Oh. With electricity running through it. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

Let's get your total damage between the 4 of you. 10 for me.

Thomas / Guy:

It's 20 for me.

Tim / GM:

Nice. Perfect.

Hannah / Eryn:

9 d 6.

Speaker 4:

Jesus. 15 lightning.

Tim / GM:

Give me damage on the pitchfork too. Oh. D 6 plus your strength.

Speaker 4:

7. I

Tim / GM:

think we're just waiting on Holly damage?

Hannah / Eryn:

37. Damn. Jesus.

Thomas / Guy:

Did we get him?

Tim / GM:

Combined, you guys did, 20 excess damage on top of, this boss's full health. What is left is essentially a scorch mark that runs up the side of the tower of knowledge and nothing else.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Gone this time.

Tim / GM:

Jinx reverts to his original form, which he realizes close to a gnome, but it's not exactly. It might have even shape shifted itself to look like Tibio when you first fought Jinx, but Jinx is not anything you ever seen before. He's he's got large eyes and a a smile that literally runs from ear to ear and a head that is 2 times too big for his body, some kind of otherworldly creature.

Hannah / Eryn:

Ew.

Tim / GM:

But it is most certainly dead floating belly up in the water.

Tara / Journey:

Can Tibeo tell if he's fey?

Tim / GM:

Doesn't look to be fey. You would think that this is like an aberration, some creature that was created by magic. Mhmm. With all of you standing on the broken bridge, you hear Margo call out to you, and then you hear Maisie's voice echo after that. And you see bucket Henry turn towards the sound of Maisie's voice.

Tim / GM:

It takes 2 steps and begins to disassemble. And you see it reach out over the broken bridge, and you see Maisie reaching out towards the party and all of her friends, and then you see Henry just fall to pieces. And, Maisie might never have known that he came back to protect her.

Tara / Journey:

Can I feel that, like, he's at peace?

Tim / GM:

Yes. His his mission is accomplished.

Tara / Journey:

Good. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

He was

Tim / GM:

able to end the threat and and see that his daughter's safe. I think we'll end it there. Thanks so much for listening. I'm Tim, your DM and your genie.
