Cursebreaker | 33 - The Boar, the Body, and the Bird

We face off against a flaming, raging, rampaging piggy and try to bring someone back from the dead at the same time.
Tim / GM:

Last time on curse breaker. The Wild Out Festival was in full swing and we had wound down to a cozy conversation around a bonfire later in the evening. Uli's family gathered to have their image recorded together. Just after that, Viri brought out a flask to share around, But the flask was cursed. Viri collapsed immediately.

Tim / GM:

Master Snack gave me his coveted rock rope in exchange for a wish, which he used to exact vengeance on the man who sold Viri the cursed flask, the most powerful curse any of us had ever seen. Holly saved our bacon with an incredible spell cast, and we returned to Hog Wild to finish the job, but the party is already exhausted. It's true. I may not be a real genie, but I'm still your genie. Let's break some curses.

Tim / GM:

So, Uli. Yeah. You were facing the huge blazing bonfire in the center of Hogwild, and a construct, a bore made of burning timbers with tusks of red hot iron, had just burst out of that bonfire. It is staring you down, about to charge. You can see these 4 laughing gnoll skulls on either side of its pig face.

Tim / GM:

However, you had just attempted the final curse breaking technique, gave it all you got, and rolled a 1. Is that correct?

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Yeah.

Thomas / Guy:

For the court. Is this correct? Yeah.

Tim / GM:

The spell rebounds, inside of you. This is a really good opportunity to actually talk about something we've been neglecting, and that is that using the curse breaker spells also hurts you a lot. So Tibio and Holly, who have both used their full curse breaker tattoo, are both at one hit point each.

Hannah / Eryn:

Fuck.

Thomas / Guy:

That's not

Tim / GM:

a whole lot. Uli, you do not suffer the full effects of having, given it all you've got. As the spell sort of rebounds within you, you lose only 6 spell slots to the effect and you will, as well only lose 1 third of your health. Yeah. So 17 damage.

Speaker 2:

So I'm at 35. Also, how many times can I rage?

Tim / GM:

That's a good question. I think we'll do once a day for now. Okay.

Speaker 2:

And how long does it last?

Tim / GM:

I think the way you use this is it's like a one turn thing. You, like Okay. Rage cast

Speaker 2:

so much. We can limit it. I won't just keep raging.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

This burning boar swipes a hoof through the dirt, and you see cinders kind of, float off of it out into the night. And Uli, you can see this thing has its head low, and it's staring at door, just beyond you. Mhmm. I need everyone to roll initiative.

Hannah / Eryn:

4. 15. 13.

John / Doran:

8.

Speaker 2:

11.

Tim / GM:

At the top of the round is Bert. You see this, that Uli's curse breaking had not succeeded and that this thing is about to charge at Uli's brother door across the way. You guys are in the town center of Hogwild. There is a busted fountain that is gushing water into the air. There are a few straggling civilians, including a few of the Niss family members.

Tim / GM:

There are buildings around here, and there are a few, wind turbines used for the pump.

Thomas / Guy:

I will bring down a guardian of faith between it and door.

Tim / GM:

Okay. You, see where this thing is heading and, you raise a hand to conjure up a, book which expands open over the dirt and from it, stands this, tall woman, holding a Libram and a sword and threatens it to get any closer.

Thomas / Guy:

Dur, get to safety.

Tim / GM:

He seems to be kind of like shocked and standing in place staring at this thing. You assume that when he mentioned that there were things in the field that he couldn't handle, this might be one of those things.

Thomas / Guy:

Yeah. I'm gonna run over to him and see if I can I'm gonna slap him. Okay.

Tim / GM:

Well, he already used your action.

Thomas / Guy:

That's true. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

I thought yeah. If he if Bert just charges into him

Speaker 7:

If he just spins and happens to hit his face

John / Doran:

on his

Thomas / Guy:

hand I don't think there's any way Bert could reach Dora's face to slap him. Right?

Tim / GM:

Also true. Yeah. You'd have

Hannah / Eryn:

use So I'm just gonna run over them.

Tim / GM:

Up next is Tibio.

Speaker 7:

Oh my gosh. I'm never this early.

Thomas / Guy:

Yeah. I threw me off too.

Speaker 7:

Wowie. Wowie. I cast Raya Frost. Okay. Hey, 27.

Tim / GM:

To hit?

John / Doran:

Yes.

Tim / GM:

That hits.

Speaker 7:

And because I am higher than level 5, it takes 2 d 8. Cold damage and its speed is reduced by 10. 11 damage.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. From a distance, you see this thing lower its head and look like it's gonna charge towards door. You see the Guardian of Faith pop up between them and it's immediately obvious to you what this thing is gonna try to do, and so you try to freeze it in place with the only magic you have left, and, you see that this actually puts out a huge amount of the flame on its flank, and, seems to actually have a very significant impact on the bore, as it kind of even rigors back a little bit to check on its new wound, but it continues nonetheless. Next up is Uli.

Speaker 2:

What's around the bore? I know I was facing it down.

Tim / GM:

The fire is right behind it, and then there's the bore. And then about 10 feet from the bore is you standing right in front of this thing.

Speaker 2:

But no one else is?

Tim / GM:

No one else is right near you, I don't think.

Speaker 2:

Okay. Then I would like to thunder wave.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

No. I wanna shatter it instead.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Shatter. So it needs to make your con save.

Tim / GM:

4.

Speaker 2:

It fails. I also don't surge. So it takes 3 d8 thunder. 11.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. The, you see the the boar kind of rattle, and pieces of it begin to fall off. These burning little timbers, just shake out from underneath it. Yet undaunted, it continues on its path. Snack.

Tim / GM:

Back at the crossroads trading post, you're standing in a dark room with a dimming candle and, Genie is, Genie has just returned to his lamp. You're now in this silent room kind of staring down the consequences.

John / Doran:

You take in my surroundings a bit.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You can see that there's, like, plenty of goodies here to steal. He was even counting money on the table. There are some probably magic minor items laying around in the shop.

John / Doran:

He had a ledger, but did he have, like, notes or anything?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. He's got, like, a bunch of, shop related paperwork, who he sold things to, and what those things were.

John / Doran:

I go into the bedroom.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

John / Doran:

I'm looking for more written things, books, or anything like that.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. He's got a, you find a a thin book on his bedside table. You see other, like half eaten meals. This guy, yeah, doesn't keep up after himself very well.

Tim / GM:

Just kinda leaves stuff everywhere. There's, like, a bunch of, like, half consumed cups of water all over the room.

John / Doran:

His neck is getting a little shaky. He he takes a book at the bedside table and looks into it.

Tim / GM:

It seems to be some kind of primer on human mating rituals.

John / Doran:

Other illustrations. There

Tim / GM:

are, yes, some some, some very crude kind of ink drawings.

John / Doran:

Okay. I I put it in the lamp.

Speaker 2:

Okay. What is this?

John / Doran:

I think Bert would be curious to see this. Do not see such things at the librarian.

Tim / GM:

I think you're right.

John / Doran:

Are there any pictures on the wall or anything like that?

Tim / GM:

I don't think so. Yeah. He's got, like, a map of the area.

John / Doran:

I cannot leave him here. I go back into towards the room with the body and then stop outside of it. And I'm just gonna freeze there for the rest of my turn.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Holly, you are drained and nearly unconscious, back at the center of town, staring down this Boris situation. What do you do from there?

Hannah / Eryn:

Is Dave still helping me?

Tim / GM:

Yes. He's right there holding Viri kind of draped in his arms.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly is going to try to move to a place where there's some, like, cover and safety nearby and sort of ask, she's gonna reach out to Dave on his shoulder and be like, Dave, come with me. Let's find a spot to put her down.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. He kinda crouches down low with you and gets out of sight of the danger here.

Hannah / Eryn:

Thanks for watching out for her.

Tim / GM:

I'll respond on my turn.

Speaker 5:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

I mean, no problem.

Hannah / Eryn:

I understand. Holly is going to, pull out Sal from her pack of holding, and she, kind of holds him up, so he can, like, see what's happening, and she starts to pet him.

Tim / GM:

He, arches his back up high and says, oh, what's going on out here?

Hannah / Eryn:

Sal, I I just wanted to ask you, have you ever seen anything like this before? And Holly gestures towards the curse in the fire.

Tim / GM:

Sal gets on the very edge of this crate on the very corner and then kind of sits on it like a gargoyle, and leans out to look at this thing. He says, I have in fact. Where have

Hannah / Eryn:

you seen it before? How do we defeat it?

Tim / GM:

This is the product of a curse, Holly Hyacinth.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, yeah. I I figured that much out myself. Thanks, Sal. But

Tim / GM:

He looks back at you with this kind of big concerned cat eyes. He says, they're very dangerous.

Hannah / Eryn:

But how how can you get rid of him forever? He's too powerful.

Tim / GM:

I I don't know. I have you tried hurting it?

Thomas / Guy:

Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

Have you tried scaring it?

Hannah / Eryn:

We're working on it. Thanks though. And, you can hang out with us for a little bit, and, Holly is just gonna keep petting him so he stays awake.

Tim / GM:

Sure. Yeah. He just kind of, remains in the corner and, like, gets low when the when the heat picks up a little bit during the fight. Next up is Dor, who is staring at this boar. Bert, he's standing there next to you, like completely unmoving, and, when you approach him, you can see that he's taking these shallow little breaths, and then his eyes are glazed over, staring at this thing.

Thomas / Guy:

Hey, Dor, just breathe breathe, okay?

Tim / GM:

You you know that you're not getting through to him at all.

Thomas / Guy:

Dor, think of your family, your family needs you.

Tim / GM:

He glances down at you for a second, but he's still not moved.

Thomas / Guy:

Alright. I didn't wanna do this, but I'm gonna cast a magic spell that makes you wanna help fight this thing and protect your family. It's called fight and protect your family.

Tim / GM:

He, kind of like holds his eyes on the boar for a couple seconds, and then he, like, snaps his vision away and looks down at you, and sees you kind of holding your hands out toward him to cast a spell, and he goes,

Thomas / Guy:

what do you think you're doing? I'm doing my patented fight and protect your family spell.

Tim / GM:

He looks back up at the boar, and, you see him just go, Uly.

Hannah / Eryn:

Uly.

Tim / GM:

Uly, you look back having flubbed your curse breaking and and, kind of wondering what to do next after your shatter, he makes eye contact with you and it finally kind of ignites him and he kicks on the rage.

Thomas / Guy:

Yeah.

Tim / GM:

Bert, you see his eyes just go bloodshot red, and he shakes his head side to side, and he literally is just whipping spit, like, left to right. And, you see him reach down and pick his hammer up off the ground, and in one huge exhaling shout, just begins to charge towards the boar.

Speaker 2:

Does he trigger my rage again?

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, that's real?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. He might actually. Okay. I think seeing that, once again, the rallying cry of the Niss family. Okay.

Tim / GM:

We'll have that go off immediately. Just because Dora is causing this, I'm gonna say Uli can take her reaction to do that. Okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So then I would cast something.

Tim / GM:

Yep. It's

Speaker 7:

It's a rage of opportunity.

Speaker 2:

Nice. I think I'd probably shatter scream.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Did not get above a 5 on either of those.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Shatter scream sounds like, the name of a transformer.

Speaker 2:

That's 10 damage, and then I have to roll it's an auto surge, so I need to roll on the table. Yep.

Tim / GM:

Well, you always have to roll on the table.

Speaker 5:

Oof. Oof. Oof.

Speaker 2:

I go invisible.

Tim / GM:

Wow.

Speaker 2:

Neat. So I scream, shatter him, and then I poof out of existence.

Tim / GM:

So Dor has not quite made it up to the boar. He is charging, and, as he's charging up to it, Bert, your guardian of faith Mhmm. Looks at you, and then it looks down at door, and it kinda gives you an eyebrow, like, should I hit this guy?

Thomas / Guy:

No no no.

Tim / GM:

She, like, holds up her blade to, like, cut his head off and then she's like, no.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, okay. Just just the flaming boar, please.

Tim / GM:

And, it runs by and she just gives you, like, the a okay.

Speaker 2:

Has the boar taken a turn?

Tim / GM:

No. It is the boar's turn.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay. Thanks for asking.

Tim / GM:

It is going to, kind of like shake its whole body side to side, and a bunch of, burning splinters and ash and embers, fall off of it. Anybody who is within a 15 foot radius needs to make a dexterity save.

Speaker 2:

Yay. Who's that? That's me.

Tim / GM:

Just Uli.

Speaker 7:

Okay. 6.

Tim / GM:

Okay. So you take the, full amount of damage here, which is 10 fire damage as, even though you're invisible, you are just kind of swallowed up by invis.

Speaker 2:

I'm fire resistant.

Thomas / Guy:

You are

Tim / GM:

fire resistant. You take half damage. Baby. Nice.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly original. Holly calls from the grates Yeah. That she's hiding.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You can see that, her overalls just will not catch fire and, stay I can't

Speaker 7:

see it. She's invisible.

Tim / GM:

No. That's right. Alright.

Speaker 2:

Dang it.

Thomas / Guy:

You assumed she's fine. Bad for your brand. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Pants no fire.

Tim / GM:

Liar liar. Pants not on fire. Alright. This thing is going to charge up to door. As it's charging past, Uli, you will need to make a something.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. A deck save from you again, Uli. And then it'll be a deck save from door.

Speaker 5:

15. Nice.

Tim / GM:

That does succeed the save. Door did not, however. Door. You are fine, Uli. And door, you see, gets clipped by this thing, as it's charging through and takes, 7 bludgeoning damage as he gets kind of crashed into.

Tim / GM:

Sorry. Half that, would be 3 because he's

Thomas / Guy:

raging. I imagine Dora has, like, 200 hit points.

Tim / GM:

Top of the round, we've got Bart.

Thomas / Guy:

So that thing was charging. Where is it charging?

Tim / GM:

It's charging to door.

Thomas / Guy:

Okay. So it's en route to my guardian.

Tim / GM:

If it keeps going. Yeah.

Thomas / Guy:

Whom can I see with my eyes?

Tim / GM:

This Give me goose. So Space. Uli is invisible, but you know kind of where she is based on where the embers kind of slapped around. Yep. Tibio is within sight.

Tim / GM:

You lost track of Holly and Dave. Fair.

Thomas / Guy:

Are there any other Niss' around?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. I think, Barrett is probably in the scene. That's probably it

Thomas / Guy:

actually. Barrett is the bar owner. Right?

Tim / GM:

Barrett's actually the bouncer, the quiet guy.

Thomas / Guy:

The bouncer. Yeah. So he can sort of fight. Yeah. Is he raging?

Thomas / Guy:

Did he get the rage?

Tim / GM:

This time he did not. He was not looking at door when it happened.

Thomas / Guy:

I'm trying to decide if I should bless these folks. Bless this mess.

Tim / GM:

Oh, no.

Speaker 7:

Bless your nose mess.

Thomas / Guy:

I'm gonna use a third level guiding bolt on the Boarman. K.

Hannah / Eryn:

That's bad.

Tim / GM:

10. 10 does not hit. You see the boar still kind of charging, like you shoot this guiding bolt at it and it sort of leans down with its tusks and it just rakes the guiding bolt away into the night sky. Yikes. Next.

Tim / GM:

Next is Tibio.

Hannah / Eryn:

It's me.

Tim / GM:

And then Uli. Sorry.

Speaker 7:

I'm gonna back away as far as can be

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 7:

Because I'm at one little old HP.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 7:

And then I'm going to cast Rhea frost.

Tim / GM:

Alright. That worked well last time.

Speaker 7:

And I do technically have a range of a 120.

Tim / GM:

Damn. Yeah. You can do it from anywhere in town. K.

Speaker 2:

It's a very small town.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Town literally isn't big enough for the 2 of you.

Hannah / Eryn:

Natural one. Woof. Yeah.

Thomas / Guy:

It's only one word sign.

Tim / GM:

See, that's

Speaker 7:

correct. Right?

Tim / GM:

I think she nails Ulee. Why do you guys why

John / Doran:

do you guys choose to do that? Invisible Ulee.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Let's have you, roll damage, but it's against Uli.

Hannah / Eryn:

5.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 7:

And your speed is reduced by 10.

Tim / GM:

You're welcome. Damn. Yeah. A ray of frost, bursts out from you except your aim is all wrong this time as you're trying to also retreat from this thing. You kind of drag it across the scene.

Tim / GM:

You like hit the fountain and see a bunch of the water turn to ice, and then you drag it across the bonfire and see a bunch of it go out, and then you stop immediately right when you hit Uly with it, and you see this invisible lump develop a bunch of rime and frost on it and fall to the ground.

Speaker 2:

I'm sorry. You can see me now. The invisibility goes away, I think, if I get hit.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Hey, watch it. Those

Tim / GM:

are Next up is Uli and then snack.

Speaker 2:

Alright. I turn around to where the boar is. Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

Right now it's a boar versus door, so it's got its back to you. Bory door.

Speaker 2:

Bory door. A spy versus spy. Then I would like to meta magic quick and spell Mhmm. To do protection from energy on myself.

Tim / GM:

Does that give you resistance? Because you already have resistance to fire.

Speaker 2:

Shit. You're right. I forgot about my pants. Your hot pants.

Tim / GM:

You always forget about the pants.

Speaker 2:

I'm still gonna use Quicken Spell, I think. Are there any potential weapons around?

Tim / GM:

By the barbecue pit, I think there's one of those long skewers.

Speaker 2:

I would like to pick up the iron poker thing and kind of ram it into them. K. And then meta magic to quick and spell a magic missile.

Tim / GM:

Sure.

Speaker 2:

As well.

Tim / GM:

So I have him make it out like an improvised weapon attack? Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I miss with the poker.

Hannah / Eryn:

Fantastic. What'd you

Tim / GM:

get on that?

Speaker 2:

Yeah. 11.

Tim / GM:

Not quite.

Speaker 2:

Not quite.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. It just kind of bounces off this thing.

John / Doran:

But

Speaker 2:

then I magic missile him.

Tim / GM:

Mhmm. I'm

Speaker 2:

also gonna roll to see if I surge.

Thomas / Guy:

11 was close, I

Speaker 7:

do the tusk and it goes bang.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. But then eleven damage.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. You, pick up this poker and throw it at it and just kind of bounces between its tusks and just flies off into the dirt. Knowing that's not gonna work, you take a few steps back and, begin to, shadow box this thing and throw little punches at it from a distance. You can see that does affect it and it, momentarily looks back at you, but its interest still seems to be door and door alone.

Tim / GM:

Next up is snack. We are back in the crossroads trading post. We've looted a few things from this, now dead bachelor. Has Snack decided to, make any moves here?

John / Doran:

Snack is standing outside of the room that the body is, and then he, reenters and approaches the body and wants to attempt a medicine check.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. Does snack have any medicine skill? No. Okay.

Speaker 7:

That's not the point.

John / Doran:

Got a 10.

Tim / GM:

Snack that's dead body.

John / Doran:

Genie. Yes? Genie, based on what that other curse said, he's not dead, right?

Tim / GM:

It sounded like that might have been the case. Can you fix this? I don't know what the nature of it is, so I'd have to take a wide spectrum approach, and that means a good deal of power.

John / Doran:

I'd scramble and gather up all the cursed items. Would this do, Genie?

Tim / GM:

Give me an intelligence check to decipher the ledgers and the placement of these items.

John / Doran:

11.

Tim / GM:

Okay. You scan the list for cursed items and you don't seem to see any. You do notice though, a couple of, nesting dolls and some other minor magic items. Things that you've seen in the past. Just these little knickknacks that you've encountered on the road.

Tim / GM:

They look similar to magic items you've seen.

John / Doran:

These seem perfect. And I gather them up and I also think of my dowsing rod and take it out.

Tim / GM:

He's in the pile. You see Genie kind of picking through the items you've laid out and he goes, and he like tosses one off to the side. Tosses another one. He goes,

John / Doran:

this is not time to be picky genie.

Tim / GM:

I could eat this. And he holds up a little, nesting doll of a fox.

John / Doran:

Oh, that that one. Okay.

Tim / GM:

He looks at you like, can I?

John / Doran:

Of course.

Tim / GM:

He pops it in and, gives, like, a tiny little burp. Okay. Task was bringing him back. Yes?

John / Doran:

Genie, I have a different wish.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

John / Doran:

And as I'm, kind of I'm huffing and puffing, and I take the body and I try to stuff it in the lamp.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

John / Doran:

Does it work? Yes.

Tim / GM:

A couple of a couple of silent moments go by, where he's just kind of staring and he's like, snack. This this isn't a good idea.

John / Doran:

It can go in my room, genie. You said I can do whatever I want there.

Tim / GM:

Let me get the dirty rug out at least.

John / Doran:

Too late. Yeah. He just

Tim / GM:

kind of, flops into the lamp. He says, snack, this I I can't sustain this for a very long snack. This isn't meant for outsiders. Whatever you're doing, it's got to be quick.

John / Doran:

Okay. Can we go back to Hog Wild?

Tim / GM:

I see. That's what okay. Yes. We can do that. But you understand, once we get there, I won't be able to bring him back.

John / Doran:

This is fine. Sounds good.

Tim / GM:

We're we're already there, Snack.

John / Doran:

Oh, what? Yeah. Look around.

Tim / GM:

If you just pop out of the lamp

John / Doran:

I see.

Tim / GM:

You, poke out and you're just, like, in the bushes and you see this, like, raging flaming boar, staring down a small half orc.

John / Doran:

Oh, this is a cool party.

Tim / GM:

So, yeah, you are back in hog wild. Next up is, Holly and then door bore.

Hannah / Eryn:

It is a cool party. As Holly, rifles through her bag to just look for anything that can help, and she's talking to Dave now.

Speaker 2:

She's like,

Hannah / Eryn:

but I do have this. And Holly pulls out a bottled Blizzard.

Tim / GM:

What's that?

Hannah / Eryn:

I don't know. I guess it's kinda like a fire extinguisher. I've never used

Tim / GM:

it before. What's that?

Hannah / Eryn:

It puts out fire, Dave.

John / Doran:

Oh. Fire extinguisher.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yep. Yep. Anyway, I think it might be helpful because that's a fire and she points over at the boar.

Tim / GM:

He looks up at the boar and squints and goes, that is a fire.

Hannah / Eryn:

Here, can you throw this at it?

Tim / GM:

I don't think you wanna put that in the hands of an NPC.

Hannah / Eryn:

Okay. Holly stands up and she takes the pin out of the grenade. I don't know. Pulls out the cork. Yeah.

Hannah / Eryn:

She pulls out the cork

Tim / GM:

of the bottle. Yeah. Yeah.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Put her teeth.

Tim / GM:

Yep.

Hannah / Eryn:

And she hurls it at the boar.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. Make a, ranged attack.

Hannah / Eryn:

Hey. Thank you. 30, 24. Alright. I rolled a 19.

Thomas / Guy:

Natural 24.

Tim / GM:

Natural 24. When a hell of a die. Yeah. You you pull the cork on this glass flask canteen thing, and hurl it across the air. Holly, you can see as it spirals away from you, it's actually casting these tiny sparkling, almost opalescent snowflakes in the air, as it as it spins towards this thing, and then it crashes right between the tusks of this bore, and you see the fire just immediately goes out across the entire thing.

Tim / GM:

Its its tusks, kind of cool from this red hot, to this matte dark gray and you hear this kind of, as the metal freezes up around it. You see the knoll skulls on this thing stop laughing, and, the fire kind of goes out. The bonfire behind it goes out, the bonfire you were talking at, goes out, and even the the water on the fountain is momentarily frozen over in this arcing spray, as you look around, and the town of Hogwild is under 4 inches of snow. What? Damn.

Hannah / Eryn:

That is a fire extinguisher. Dave. I'm kidding.

Tim / GM:

I'm gonna have you roll, 8 d 6 for the damage on that. Fuck.

Hannah / Eryn:

28 damage.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Okay. Yeah. This thing is nearly extinguished. You think it's gonna be dead.

Tim / GM:

You think it's gone after this attack, but then you see, like, almost like a trick birthday candle. This thing reignites from the center and begins to glow again, a little bit of heat stretching out into its tusks, and it gets back onto its feet. Holly, after you throw it, Dave just kinda looks out at you and he goes, damn, Holly. That was cold.

Hannah / Eryn:

Cold snap, baby.

Tim / GM:

Nice.

Hannah / Eryn:

Ice.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Door is like standing with his hammer in both hands about to smack this thing, and then he just gets dumped on with snow and ice and frost, and, sees this thing almost go out. He is going to take a, wild swing at this thing, with his hammer. Solid hit. You see

Thomas / Guy:

him impact

Tim / GM:

the bejesus out of this thing. So that is a good 15 damage on the old boar.

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Tim / GM:

We're back to Bert.

Thomas / Guy:

Yay. So is that fountain frozen?

Tim / GM:

It is frozen. Yep. Whoops. Shit. You can see, Bert, that this this bore the fire inside it is very weak, and it's having trouble reestablishing.

Tim / GM:

You think it's on its way out?

Thomas / Guy:

Well, Bert, having seen his guiding bolt not work and then seeing Holly's blizzard attack, says, clearly, we need a more intellectual approach here. Time to call the only person who can save us now. He pulls out his book, say, dear Eugene, the future of Hog Wild depends on you bringing as many barrels as you can quickly to the center of town. You will know you're in the right place when you see a giant flaming boar monster. Sincerely Engelbert.

Thomas / Guy:

And then I walk over to Barrett. Yeah. Barrett, my good man.

Tim / GM:

Mhmm. Yes.

Thomas / Guy:

You may have noticed the giant flaming boar monster in the center of town.

Tim / GM:

I have. I've been thinking about doing something about it.

Thomas / Guy:

I may have something for you on that front. Oh? Any moment now we are due for a shipment of barrels.

Tim / GM:

You hear it from the other side of town. And it's, Eugene who is, like, standing on top of a barrel and doing, like, a backwards kick to roll it forward. Oh. And he is he's sort of leading this trail of barrels that is all kind of chasing after him.

Hannah / Eryn:

What the fuck?

Thomas / Guy:

I thought you and your brothers and sisters could use these barrels to fill with water from the fountain and put out that fire.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Yeah. That's better than what I was thinking. I was gonna try to punch it.

Thomas / Guy:

I think Doris got that part covered.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. He, picks up one of the barrels and, rushes over towards the fountain. He meets, I think Ilya is also there, and, Ulrich has come out to help at this point. The 3 of them, work to bust the large chunk of ice off of the fountain, so they can begin Okay. Filling these barrels.

Tim / GM:

I think, in that time, Tibia, you also have a shot to go to.

Speaker 7:

Is the boar undead?

Tim / GM:

It is undead.

Hannah / Eryn:

Animate head. I still

Speaker 7:

I still can't do that because that it's still about my spell slots. That's not why I was asking you. I'm going to cast chill touch.

Tim / GM:

That's necrotic damage. Right? Correct. I think I've narratively interpreted that as ice in the past, but it is necrotic. Yeah.

Speaker 7:

It is necrotic. And that is, 22.

Tim / GM:

Hits.

Speaker 7:

And it takes 2 d 8 necrotic damage and can't regain hit points until the start of my next turn.

Tim / GM:

Oh.

Speaker 7:

Since it is undead, it has disadvantage on attack rules against me.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Cool.

Hannah / Eryn:

5.

Tim / GM:

Okay. This thing falters on its feet. You see all that heat kind of disappear out of it again. Not because it's being chilled, but because it's losing its life. Next up is Uli.

Speaker 2:

Is this thing possessed by a thing?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Possessed by a curse.

Speaker 2:

Can I try to banish it?

Tim / GM:

Yes. You can.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. At this moment, it is going to use its legendary resistance to avoid the banishment.

Speaker 2:

I forgot that you did that.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Even being, near death, this thing is of a higher caliber than what you faced in the past. And it can quite easily shrug off things that would mean it's certain doom.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. That's all I do.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. It does not quite do it. Snack, you are up.

John / Doran:

It seems that this boar is the enemy. How far how far from it am I?

Tim / GM:

You're pretty far. You're, like, 60 feet away.

Thomas / Guy:

Do any of us know that Snack is here?

Tim / GM:

I doubt it. Give me a perception check.

Speaker 2:

Wait. Who? All of us?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Natural twenty. Wow. Yeah. Dang.

Hannah / Eryn:

What the fuck? 17.

Tim / GM:

Is that snack

Thomas / Guy:

over there, it is? Oh.

Tim / GM:

Snacks. Where

Hannah / Eryn:

did you come from? Wow. 3 seventeens and fours.

Tim / GM:

We all get back here. As soon as

Thomas / Guy:

that. As soon

Tim / GM:

as snack pops out, everybody jumps around.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, sick.

Tim / GM:

See snacks

Hannah / Eryn:

in here. Snack's back.

Thomas / Guy:

Did you guys see snacks back?

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh my god.

Speaker 2:

It tumbles out of the lamp. Okay.

John / Doran:

So the body is in the bushes?

Tim / GM:

It it is ejected from the lamp, and, yeah, it kinda goes in the bushes. Genie Genie just goes, I can't have that in the lamp anymore. I'm sorry.

John / Doran:

It's okay, Genie. I think your next level will be able to do this.

Tim / GM:

I think that sounds about right. Yeah. A little more XP. Anyway, see you. And he dumps back in.

John / Doran:

Alright. If the body's in the bushes, I'm gonna use the brimstone Mhmm. Cloak and just kinda and I appear next to the boar Mhmm. And then I go and just cast a max level thunder wave.

Tim / GM:

So Okay. What is max level?

John / Doran:

So it's gonna be a con save.

Speaker 2:

That's a 15 foot cube.

Tim / GM:

6. What does Uli get?

John / Doran:

Is Uli close enough? Probably.

Speaker 2:

And Andor.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Ash.

Hannah / Eryn:

8th.

John / Doran:

Okay. So Snack did not see that Uli and Dor were there.

Hannah / Eryn:

Somehow.

Thomas / Guy:

They saw you, though. We all saw you.

John / Doran:

Yeah. So I just appear and then just explode. Yeah. 3, 5, 13, 16 God. 22.

John / Doran:

Okay. Thunder damage.

Speaker 2:

I'm at 3 health.

John / Doran:

And everything is

Thomas / Guy:

Yeah. It's too bad than these 2. Pushed away.

John / Doran:

Pushed 10 defeat from me.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Yeah. Dor and Uli go flying in opposite directions. In a concentric cube around you, you see these, like lines of force kind of ripping up the dirt beneath you, sending little flecks of sand and grass everywhere. And then when it gets to

Speaker 2:

the Snow.

Tim / GM:

Bore. Sorry. And snow. Yeah. When it gets to the bore, you see those same lines of force kind of crash into it, and the first wave, knocks its tusks off of its face.

Tim / GM:

And the second wave cracks a bunch of the skulls, and then you see this thing just start to disassemble in waves as the the energy kind of ripples through it, and this thing just falls to pieces, leaving this ball of white in the middle of it. At that moment, you see Barret, Illya, and Ulrich, coming over with, huge barrels of water, and they all just like throw it, like, right on the middle of this pile. And, you see a bunch of like steam rising out of it. And, actually, I think Ulrich just throws his entire barrel, and it just like, it explodes on this thing. So you see like the the hot heart of this thing has been, completely cooled.

Tim / GM:

All that's left is this minuscule white cursed energy, rolling around on the ground.

Speaker 5:

Yes.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. It's it's quite quiet after that. Door is kind of, like, sitting back up. It seems like he's taken bigger hits before.

Hannah / Eryn:

Wait. We have to take care of that. Holly stumbles out from behind her hiding spot. Anyone got any curse breaking left?

Tim / GM:

Doris stands up and says, leave it to me.

Speaker 2:

That's that's not gonna work, I don't think.

Tim / GM:

Works on everything else. And he, like, raises his hammer over

Speaker 2:

This isn't everything else.

Tim / GM:

And, he drops the hammer on the curse. And, sure enough, it just kind of, he, like, makes a direct hit, and it has no impact on this thing. Wrong.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Snack.

John / Doran:

Yes. What?

Speaker 2:

Can you summon Margo?

Tim / GM:

Dora goes, why no smash?

Speaker 2:

Dora just trusts me.

John / Doran:

I think Dora can try one more time. Perhaps he just missed or tried.

Speaker 5:

No. We need a curse breaker.

Tim / GM:

Dora continues to try.

Hannah / Eryn:

Wait. Is it, before calling Margo, which is a great idea, can Genie eat it? Is it weak

John / Doran:

enough? Genie? Yes. Are you satiated? Would you like to feed again?

Tim / GM:

I could eat. What do you have?

John / Doran:

It's something, heavily, tenderized. Oh. Yes. It's cold.

Tim / GM:

Who's a lucky boy? And he, like, comes out and takes a look at it, and he says, oh, gross. Okay. Man, you really played with your food, didn't you snack? Perhaps.

Tim / GM:

Played with my food, I guess. Anyway, here goes nothing and, you see him kind of walk over. He picks up that, barbecue skewer off the ground and he keeps trying to poke at this thing and he says, stop moving. Come on. And, eventually he gets this thing right through and then he holds it up and he makes the, perfect cooking hands.

Tim / GM:

I don't know what you'd call that and skewers this thing and puts it into his mouth and he says, oh, I'm not gonna say it's a spicy meatball. That's a bad idea. Yeah. He picks it up and goes, that's a spicy meatball.

Speaker 2:

Or could you just say chef's kiss? Kiss.

Tim / GM:

That's what it is. Chef's kiss. Genie, is rubbing his belly and staring at the party. And then he takes out the magical equivalent of a Tums and eats that.

John / Doran:

It's been fun catching up with all of you, but I should probably get going.

Thomas / Guy:

Did that do it? Hold on a minute, snack.

Speaker 2:

Is Viri okay?

Tim / GM:

Walking towards the party is Day of Holding Viri. Viri is not, alive, not risen.

Thomas / Guy:

I really thought that would do it.

Tim / GM:

I'm sorry. I wish I could help, but I'm I'm no good in the magic universe.

Speaker 2:

Is is there anyone we can summon?

Speaker 5:

We could still summon Marco. She may know of a solution to this.

Thomas / Guy:

I I got one thing I can try. It's a long shot. Bert walks over and casts greater restoration.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

One of the things that does is removes one curse, including the target's attunement to a cursed magic item.

Tim / GM:

Okay.

John / Doran:

It's a

Thomas / Guy:

5th level spell.

Tim / GM:

Bert, what do you have to do to cast Greater Restoration?

Thomas / Guy:

I need a 100 gold, material which is consumed.

Tim / GM:

What's the what's the actual material that you need?

Thomas / Guy:

Diamond dust.

Tim / GM:

Oh, I see. Okay.

Hannah / Eryn:

Oh, I got some of that. And Holly just pulls out a diamond and crushes it in her hand. Here you

Tim / GM:

go. I think what happens though is, you see William, a suitor of Holly's, walks up and says, I believe I owe you an apology, miss Sallyloo. I was not in my own mind when I tried that terrible, terrible deed of of forcing a drink on you. That's something a gentleman should never do. How many of these guys are there?

Speaker 5:

I think only 3.

Tim / GM:

He looks up and says, I am the 3rd and most wealthy of the gentlemen. I'd like to remain an honest man in your eyes, Sallyloo, And to do just such a thing, I'd like to offer you my ring, no strings attached. It's got some value. Do with it what you wish, and you just call, and I'll come running.

Thomas / Guy:

Yo, honey. Is that a diamond ring?

Tim / GM:

Is It is, in fact, a diamond ring.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'll take it. Thank you so much. Please never talk to me again. K. Bye.

John / Doran:

How many suitors do you have, Holly? Shh. I only have one.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'll teach you my secrets later, Snack. Is this what you need?

Thomas / Guy:

I can't promise this will work, but it's might be the best shot we got.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly gives the ring to Bert.

Thomas / Guy:

Alright. He puts on the ring, which is way too big for his little numb fingers.

Hannah / Eryn:

Cute.

Thomas / Guy:

And, puts a hand on Iliut? Iliut?

Speaker 2:

Firi. Firi?

Thomas / Guy:

Firi. Thank you.

Speaker 2:

Don't create a restore

Hannah / Eryn:

Ollie's gonna put a hand on Bert's gnome shoulder right behind him, just standing behind him as, like, a support.

Thomas / Guy:

And, Cass it.

Tim / GM:

Right as you will it to be so, Bert, the diamond disappears entirely out of the ring. You see Viri's eyes kind of slowly open and, she kind of like blushes and looks up and says, hey, Dave. He says, you're awake. And just kind of like slowly sets her down.

Speaker 2:

Barry, you were you were dead. I can't I'm so glad you're alive.

Hannah / Eryn:

Bert, you did it. You did it. Holly shakes him shakes his shoulder.

Thomas / Guy:

Well, it worked.

Tim / GM:

She says, I was I was dead? I didn't feel dead. I felt like I was it was nothing.

Speaker 2:

Well, you look pretty dead. Please don't. Don't do that again. Don't buy strange things from strange people.

Tim / GM:

I mean, yeah. She's still in in the mood of celebration and and drinking and having fun. And, your, your kind of emotional state catches her off guard. And she, like, gives you, like, a a little half hug and says, don't don't worry. I'm I'm not going anywhere.

Tim / GM:

You better not.

Speaker 2:

Alright. Who wants to party?

Speaker 7:

Tibia falls over.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Yeah. We're not doing Tibia. Some members of the Niss family are, kicking pieces of the bore away from itself, so that it doesn't, like, reassemble all of a sudden, doing what they call proper precautions from their perspective. Mhmm.

Tim / GM:

A few of the townsfolk are getting ready to sort of like clean up a little bit and and for lack of words, put this whole thing to bed. But there's a moment of silence, as you're all standing there, just appreciating the fact that Viri is back with you. And then you notice that the few townspeople that are out there are kind of blank faced and they're just staring around.

Speaker 7:

Also, there's a dead body.

Thomas / Guy:

In the bushes.

Speaker 7:

Toby Gashman?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Nobody sees that. Okay.

Thomas / Guy:

Yeah. Genius. What a day.

Hannah / Eryn:

Everyone's looking kinda weird at us. Do you guys notice that?

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, we didn't just save the town for, like, the 3rd time?

Hannah / Eryn:

No. But they got, like, the Joe look. Look at their eyes.

Tim / GM:

You all turned to look at them and they do look like they have that same blank expression. But when you follow their eyes, they're not looking at you. They're all looking up.

Speaker 2:

Oh, boy.

Thomas / Guy:

Bert looks up.

Hannah / Eryn:

We all look up.

Tim / GM:

You see around the wooden palisades, and on the eve of every roof in Hogwild, there are no less than a 1000 jet black ravens. What? Staring down at the center of town. Staring down at Tibio. Tibio?

Speaker 7:

Tibio passes out.

Tim / GM:

You all hear this cacophonous take off from every angle in the town, and there's this giant fluttering of wings as it looks like this place is domed by a black sheet, or some impossibly black night sky, as all of these birds fly up in this enormous murmuration that starts shifting and it all moves southeast, towards the fern glade. One raven remains and it perches right next to Tibio.

Hannah / Eryn:

Tibio, what? Do you want me to fight this bird?

Thomas / Guy:

Miss Snack, can you talk to this? I wish Are you unconscious?

Speaker 7:

It's okay. It's okay. And I'm sitting on the ground, and I'm all, like, crumbled up. I'm so tired and injured.

Tim / GM:

The bird looks at you, cocks its head, and says, Theo, it is time.

Speaker 5:

Okay. I will come home.

Tim / GM:

It turns its head again and says, the dead have become restless. The mental of House Vemur awaits you.

Speaker 5:

I know I have been away too long. I will hurry.

Tim / GM:

The raven doesn't fly away. In fact, it moves to the top, moves to the eve of a house and it stares down at you. As you continue your night, no matter what you do, this bird will not let you out of its sight.

Speaker 5:

Tibio. Yes. Snack.

John / Doran:

I have a clear shot. This bird that's been spying on you.

Thomas / Guy:

No. No. No. No. Do not injure

Speaker 5:

the bird. Okay. Leave the bird alone. It is a messenger and a guardian, and it is ensuring that I make my way home.

John / Doran:

Are we all going with Tibia?

Speaker 5:

That that is up to you.

Tim / GM:

Can we?

Speaker 7:

Absa do not.

Hannah / Eryn:

Can we sleep first? I need some healing. Yeah. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

How about a long

Hannah / Eryn:

rest? Yeah.

Thomas / Guy:

Before we go?

Hannah / Eryn:

Head back to the inn and get some rest before we have to the inn. Decide what's next.

Thomas / Guy:

Your house.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. Oh, I guess I thought the bar had an inn above it. I didn't know.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. The bar doesn't have an inn or any place to sleep. There is an inn called the Haystack that's right across from the hair of the hog. Uli's family home is also open to, to stay at.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. I'm I'm gonna go be with my family for a bit. It's been pretty rough.

Hannah / Eryn:

Holly's gonna go to the haystack and pass out in a bed. K. Yep.

John / Doran:

But, but can you come with me?

Thomas / Guy:

Sure. Where are we going?

John / Doran:

Just outside. I I need you to help me read something.

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, you had me at read something.

Hannah / Eryn:

Yeah. I pull

John / Doran:

out the book from, Toby's room. Yeah. So, this book here, Follow Me a Bird, Please.

Thomas / Guy:

Where'd you get this?

John / Doran:

It's not important. This is just a diversion to seem, less suspicious.

Tim / GM:

Bert, you turn the book over in your hand. It's called, Titillating Times of Tildry. Oh,

Thomas / Guy:

I've read this one.

Hannah / Eryn:

Of course, yes.

Thomas / Guy:

It's 2nd edition though. I'm

John / Doran:

Yes. Very interesting. I do have questions about this later, but

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, boy. Well, I'll do my best.

Speaker 2:

Please please give him

John / Doran:

a talk. I lead Bert, away from the like, out into the woods towards the bushes.

Thomas / Guy:

You can read all about it in my book, The Bert and the Bees.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god.

John / Doran:

But this was not really why I wanted you to come here.

Thomas / Guy:

I'm glad for that. But I can keep the book. Right?

John / Doran:

I suppose. It's Alright. There we go. Alright. I I glance around, make sure nobody's looking at us.

John / Doran:

Mhmm. And I move the bushes aside to reveal a leg.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You see a corpse Nope. Dead body.

Speaker 2:

I isn't he aware of that already?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Yeah. It's the same body from the cross post that you would see. It's Toby Goshman.

Thomas / Guy:

You brought Toby he he's body here?

John / Doran:

Well, I but I feel weird about this murder for some reason.

Thomas / Guy:

You feel weird?

John / Doran:

I cannot explain it, but I almost wanted to run away and or burn the house down. I don't know. But I thought it best to bring it here, and you showed me that you can, you can bring them back to life. Oh. Or should we kill him for for real?

Thomas / Guy:

Well, he's already dead.

Tim / GM:

No. Don't kill me. What? What?

Thomas / Guy:

What? What?

Tim / GM:

It's him again.

Thomas / Guy:

What?

Tim / GM:

And Toby Goshman kind of like sits up where he's laying.

Thomas / Guy:

Toby.

Tim / GM:

I am I dead?

John / Doran:

Not yet.

Tim / GM:

What's going on? Why am I where am I?

Thomas / Guy:

Oh, you're Ian Hogwild.

Tim / GM:

What day is it?

Thomas / Guy:

It's today.

Tim / GM:

Okay. Okay. How did I get here?

John / Doran:

This is not important. You almost murdered one of my allies' sister. How

Tim / GM:

how did I do that? I was doing my receipt.

John / Doran:

You are selling cursed items as we advise you not to.

Tim / GM:

Well, someone sold them to me.

John / Doran:

Did they force you to buy them?

Tim / GM:

No, but they didn't tell me they were cursed. It's not my fault.

Thomas / Guy:

We told you they were cursed when we were at the crossroads.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. But I I had sold them by then. You guys bought the last ones.

Thomas / Guy:

So you sold this to her before we ever met you?

Tim / GM:

Sold what?

Thomas / Guy:

This flask. It's gone now. Oh. But, you know, the flask.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Yeah. I sold that, like, maybe a day before I met you guys. What is this about? Oh, god.

Thomas / Guy:

You killed him, Snack?

John / Doran:

I will again, maybe. Can I do a perception to see if he is fibbing?

Tim / GM:

Insight. Yeah. Insight.

Speaker 7:

Duh, John. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I feel like snack would make a perception joke.

Hannah / Eryn:

Just like twins at all.

John / Doran:

I got an 11.

Speaker 5:

Dieter tells.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. You, you can't get a read on whether he's just trying to save his own bacon or if he's telling the truth. It doesn't seem like he's really thinking about the things he's saying, though. So he must be a good liar if he is.

Thomas / Guy:

Alright. There's a lot to cover here, and not just with you, Toby. So let's zone a truth this out.

John / Doran:

Cool, Bert. What does that do?

Thomas / Guy:

Do a charisma check to see if you think it was really cool.

John / Doran:

Lesson 10.

Thomas / Guy:

That's a fail. Okay. So if you didn't think it was cool, you you can't lie about

Hannah / Eryn:

it. When it's snack really thing, tell us.

John / Doran:

Wow, Bert. This is something I would expect you to do.

Speaker 2:

Bert, the narc.

Tim / GM:

Toby gets a 10 and says, I I mean it. I didn't I sold this to her before I ever met you. I I I didn't have any cursed items to sell after you guys came through.

John / Doran:

Would you sell them again, Toby?

Tim / GM:

Well, I don't have anymore.

John / Doran:

That's not the question.

Thomas / Guy:

But you'll still honor your commitment to report any cursed items back to us. Right?

Tim / GM:

Yeah. I have to go to Tildry and tell, like, Bingo Bango or something.

Thomas / Guy:

It's true. He does think her name is Bingo Bango.

Tim / GM:

Right? That was the deal. I have to tell some Tildry official that I have a cursed item.

Thomas / Guy:

That is the deal. Yes.

Tim / GM:

Right.

Hannah / Eryn:

Well

John / Doran:

You swear to do this.

Tim / GM:

I swear. I swore the first time. How do I get home?

John / Doran:

I am not sure.

Thomas / Guy:

It's like a day from here.

John / Doran:

You'll be glad to know I did not burn your things. I did grab one of your books, though.

Tim / GM:

His eyes just go wide. He's like, he goes, the book?

Thomas / Guy:

Yeah, the book.

John / Doran:

Did you write this yourself, Toby?

Tim / GM:

No, but I read it every night.

Thomas / Guy:

I can't wait to read it either.

Tim / GM:

I imagine myself as the main character. What is going on?

John / Doran:

I feel so much better. I got to murder and still be forgiven for it. This was a good day.

Thomas / Guy:

Snack, nobody said you were forgiven. In fact, I'm a little steamed at you for stealing that flask from me and then going off to do this without consulting any of us. But I'm a little conflicted because it seemed like you were doing the right thing.

John / Doran:

I do not think the dragon would think it good of me to do what I have done.

Thomas / Guy:

If that dragon is your moral compass, then maybe we'll just have to go with that. No more running off for murders without telling us. Okay? Okay?

John / Doran:

Is your stupid spell still on, Bert?

Tim / GM:

I wanna be as cool and interesting as you guys.

Thomas / Guy:

The spell must have worn off because it's not stupid.

John / Doran:

I will think more slowly next time, Bert.

Thomas / Guy:

Thank you, mister Snack.

John / Doran:

You're welcome.

Tim / GM:

I have to pee.

John / Doran:

Toby, you may be my suitor if you wish.

Tim / GM:

Your suitor? Yes. I am lonely.

Speaker 2:

And desperate.

John / Doran:

I will let you sleep on this, but do, do reach out. Yeah.

Tim / GM:

I'll I'll let you know if if I wanna be your suitor, I suppose. Part of me is thinking, yeah.

John / Doran:

But do you have any more ink?

Speaker 2:

Oh my god.

Thomas / Guy:

I got plenty, baby.

Tim / GM:

I think I better just call it a night. I'm gonna find a place to stay and, Toby leaves.

John / Doran:

Okay.

Speaker 7:

So as we're all, like, tucked away and doing our sleep stuff

Speaker 2:

Mhmm.

Speaker 7:

Tibio is gonna wander out and try to, like, find a quiet time away from the raven and away from everybody.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. I think the Raven maybe expected you to be asleep. So when you leave the haystack or wherever it is that you are, you do get a couple minutes, away from this thing.

Speaker 7:

Tibio is just kind of, like, contemplative and is very nervous about going home and is kind of overwhelmed with everything that happened since we got to Hogwild. And he just kind of sits on the ground and is absently kind of, like, playing necromantically with little bones that he finds in the alleyway Mhmm. Kinda deal. And, he, like, hums to himself a little bit. Nothing in particular.

Speaker 7:

He's just kinda humming.

Tim / GM:

Yeah. Okay. You're, you're not far from the alleyway where you had seen that, dark cloaked figure that was doing much the same the night before. In fact, you you think you might be playing with some of the same bones. In the midst of that, you hear a hoof hit the dirt.

Speaker 7:

I look around. Dave?

Tim / GM:

He's like in a nightgown. Oh.

John / Doran:

He's gonna

Tim / GM:

wear gloves of water. You look up at the back end of the alley, and you see a decayed skeletal horse turn its head and look at you. And it pulls forward and you see a dark cloaked figure sitting on this dead horse. He, looks over and says, good evening again.

Speaker 5:

Hello. I did not expect to see you again.

Tim / GM:

I was actually just leaving town. It seems things here are a little chaotic for the moment.

Speaker 5:

Yes. I think I think that they are settled again, though.

Tim / GM:

I hope this town does well. I've I've enjoyed my time here. They've treated me nicely as an equal.

Speaker 5:

Yes. They are they are very good people. I I never cut your name. Your name?

Tim / GM:

Oh. If you want to call me by my name, you can call me Gaspard.

Speaker 5:

It is nice to meet you, Gaspard. My name is Thibaut Femme.

Tim / GM:

Give me, an insight check.

Speaker 7:

30 20.

Tim / GM:

Nice. When you give him your name, you see his head kind of bow and he breaks eye contact with you. You actually see the horse bow its head as well. And he says, I'm sorry. I didn't realize.

Speaker 5:

Oh, no. No. No. No need to No. I'm I'm no one.

Speaker 5:

I am just babbling through.

Tim / GM:

I know the name Femer. It it speaks to my bones. I'm headed east to the Fernglade. Might I find you there someday?

Speaker 5:

Oui? Yes. I'm heading there myself soon. It is my home.

Tim / GM:

I understand. I feel you are owed a gift, young master Femer. He, throws a leg over the horse to dismount and as he does so, you see the horse kind of kneel and it dies as he gets off of it.

Hannah / Eryn:

Cool. And,

Tim / GM:

he walks over to you and he says, this has been much too small for me. I think it was meant for someone your size. And, he ruffles around in his bag and he gives you, undoubtedly a gnome sized loot. Perhaps it was for a child, but it works all the same.

Speaker 7:

Cool.

Tim / GM:

Says, if you find it difficult to carry a tune, this might help.

Speaker 7:

I hold it and I look at it, and I look up at him and just a huge smile lights up my face.

Speaker 5:

Thank you so much. This is wonderful.

Tim / GM:

Thank you, your eminence. I hope to meet you again. Please do take care.

Speaker 5:

Travel safe.

Tim / GM:

He walks over to the horse and when he gets close, it begins to just kind of like shuffle back to life. You see some of its bones try to find the right sockets as it reassembles.

Speaker 7:

Cool and gross.

Tim / GM:

His, cloak kind of readjusts itself as the spines on it, like, straighten out and then go slack again. He gives you a nod and then throws up a cowl over his face and rides out of town. Thanks so much for listening. I'm Tim, your DM and your Genie.

Hannah / Eryn:

I'm Hannah playing Holly Hyacinth.

Thomas / Guy:

I'm Thomas. I play Engelbert f f Wisherspoon.

Speaker 7:

John / Doran:
